A teacher who could
build the tool
I am Daniel Einon. I have spent more than ten years in English language education, and I write the code for Classly myself. Eli exists because those two things met.
Background
I am Daniel Einon, the founder and developer of Classly.
I have worked in English language education for more than ten years, including five years in China, where I was Head of English at a school in Wuhan. I later moved into online teaching and built my own tutoring business.
My background is also in software development, having studied Computer Games Development at university.
Where Classly came from
Classly started from problems I was dealing with in my own teaching.
A lot of the work around a lesson was repetitive: organising notes, pulling out vocabulary and corrections, creating homework, tracking progress and keeping everything easy for students to access.
Most of the tools available solved one small part of that process, rather than the whole workflow.
Building Classly Eli
I started building Classly to bring those different parts together.
Eli is now the main automation system within Classly. It can take a lesson transcript or teaching materials and turn them into organised notes, vocabulary, phrases, grammar points, corrections and personalised follow-up work.
The aim is simply to reduce the amount of manual work a tutor has to do after each lesson.
Developing it with tutors
One of the most useful parts of building Classly has been seeing how other tutors actually use it in their own lessons.
A lot of what Eli has become has come from those conversations: what saves tutors time, what feels unnecessary, what they wish worked differently, and what would make the platform genuinely useful week after week.
I still use Eli in my own teaching too, so I am living the same workflow I am trying to improve.
In one month alone, it saved me 28 hours of admin.
That combination of using it myself and hearing directly from other tutors is still how I decide what to build next.
Classly today
I still design and develop Classly myself, alongside working directly with the tutors using the platform.
The focus is on making the day-to-day work of independent tutors simpler: less admin, better organisation, and more time for the parts of teaching that actually need a person.

The reason I keep building
I tried the demo and it worked really well, so I signed up right away. The platform is very practical and friendly for both teachers and students.
Online ESL tutor
It is amazing. It really reduces the workload. With minimal effort, you can create notes and homework for students while also tracking their progress. I truly love it.
Online ESL tutor
A few of my students asked me to thank you for your hard work. They love the platform, and so do I. I do not see how a tutor would not want to use Classly Eli.
Online ESL tutor
I have been using Classly Eli on a regular basis now, and I am really pleased with it. It has saved me a lot of time, and I find it very convenient to use.
Online ESL tutor
It is effortless and has been such a wonderful support, cutting out loads of in-between steps and saving me so much time.

Come and say hello
Book a call and bring a lesson you have already taught. Worst case, you get half an hour of talking shop with another tutor.
